Cross Country Carnival- Friday 1st June 2018

Place:

Sydney Park

Start & finish near cafe and children’s playground

Organise buses to drop off & pick up n the corner of Euston Rd and Campbell Rd.

Time:

9.45am – arrival of schools

10.00am – walk of the course (officials dropped off)

The carnival should be complete by about 2pm

Cost:

$6.00 / student numbers to treasurer on the day.

Uniform:

All competitors must wear a t-shirt / singlet that identifies their school.

If students fail to wear the correct uniform, they will not be allowed to run. For health and safety reasons students may not start in a jacket / jumper.

Age:

Students must run in the age group that they will be on 31st December of the current year.

Running in the wrong age group will mean automatic disqualification.

Food:

As there are limited facilities, students will need to bring food and drink from home. Sandwiches, wraps, muesli bars, fruit etc are recommended. Sports drinks or water are also recommended.

Students should not be allowed to leave the carnival area during the day.

Weather:

There is minimal shelter at this venue, please be prepared for ALL weather conditions.

Competitors:

Up to 10 competitors each age group.

4. Marrickville HS 8. SSC- Balmain

 

Finish Line:

At the finish line, all students will be issued with a ticket.

Students must take this ticket immediately to the recorders desk or they WILL NOT be recorded.

Officials:

1 manager + 2 staff members for official duties

Each school is entitled to 1-day relief from the Zone

Sydney East Association Carnival:

The top 10 runners in each age group will qualify for the Sydney East Carnival.

This will be held at Miranda Park, The Boulevarde, Miranda on 14 th June 2018

Program:

Times listed are approximate guides only. Events may be called earlier than the scheduled times.

Marshaling will occur at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the race.

Team managers should listen for all announcements and send students to the marshaling area in the correct uniform, on time & with their number marked on their arm.

The following points will be awarded, which will tally to the total school point scores.

The top 10 runners in each age group will advance to the Sydney East Carnival.

If there is 4 runners from a school that finish in the top 10, they may run as a school team.
